The short answer
We hang printed wallpaper murals in Hialeah Gardens homes, from kids' rooms to dining areas. The job starts with measuring before you order, continues with surface prep, and ends with every panel aligned so the image reads as one continuous picture.
Families in Hialeah Gardens often want a mural for a specific reason: a jungle scene for a toddler's room, a palm-lined beach for a sunroom, or a skyline to anchor a teenager's study corner. We are based in Hialeah, about 3 miles east, and mural installs are some of the most satisfying work we do because the transformation is immediate. Unlike repeating wallpaper, a mural is printed once to fit one wall, so getting it right means planning the image placement, preparing a flat surface and joining each panel so the picture runs seamlessly from corner to corner.
Planning the Picture Before Printing
A mural is only as good as its placement. Think about what part of the image matters most and where your eye lands when you enter the room. If a bed will cover the bottom third of the wall, you probably want the main subject higher up. If a window interrupts one side, an important detail might need to shift away from it.
Most mural companies let you adjust the crop before printing. We can measure your wall accurately, at top, middle and bottom, and give you dimensions to enter with a few inches of overage on every side. Walls in older ranch-style homes can be out of square, and that extra margin is what lets us trim to the real shape of the room.
Types of Murals We Install
Murals come in several materials, and each hangs a little differently. We will look at your product before the day so we bring the right paste and tools.
- Non-woven murals hung with paste rolled onto the wall
- Traditional paper murals pasted on the back and booked
- Vinyl murals for kitchens, baths and play areas
- Peel-and-stick murals for renters or short-term looks
- Custom photo prints made from your own family pictures
Getting the Wall Mural-Ready
Flat areas of color in a mural, like an open sky or calm sea, show every bump beneath them. On plaster over concrete block, which is common in Hialeah Gardens homes, we look for fine cracks and uneven patches and correct them with joint compound and sanding. On drywall, we fill fastener pops and smooth any texture.
Next is a white wallcovering primer. It keeps colors true, since a dark or colored wall can tint a thin mural, and it ensures the next owner can remove the panels without damaging the wall. Exterior walls get a moisture check first, because rain soaks into block during the wet season from May to October and damp walls cause bubbles.
Joining Panels Into One Image
Panels are numbered left to right. We unbox and lay them out in sequence to confirm the full image is there and nothing is damaged. Then we mark a true vertical for the first panel and decide its exact height, which determines where the horizon or main subject sits.
Every following panel is lined up to the image on its neighbor, not just to the edge. That matters because printing tolerances can vary slightly, and an installer who only butts edges together may end up with a sky that steps up or a tree that kinks. We smooth from the center outward to push out air and excess paste, then trim at the top and bottom against a straight edge.
Matching the Scene to the Room
Scale is the detail people underestimate. A mural with tiny, intricate elements can read as a blur from across a large family room, while an oversized close-up of leaves or flowers can feel crowded in a narrow hallway. As a rough rule, small rooms suit images with a clear sense of depth, such as a path, a horizon or a window-like view, because they make the space feel bigger. Large rooms can handle bold, close-cropped subjects.
Color matters as much as subject. Cool blues and greens tend to calm a bedroom, while warmer sunset tones bring energy to a dining or game room. In homes where the AC keeps blinds half-closed against the afternoon heat, lighter murals help bounce what daylight there is around the room. We are happy to look at a few options with you on a phone or laptop screen and talk through how each would sit on your actual wall, including where furniture, switches and vents will overlap the picture.
Afterward
Give the mural several days to cure before mounting shelves or hanging frames over it. Keep the AC set to a steady temperature during that time. Vinyl and many non-woven murals can be wiped gently once dry; paper murals are better dusted.
Our mural crew also works across Medley, Miami Lakes, Doral, Miramar and Miami Springs.
