The short answer
We hang one-wall wallpaper accents in North Miami condos, duplexes and single-family homes in 33160, 33161, 33168 and 33181. We help pick the wall and a paper that handles coastal humidity, and most jobs are completed in a single day.
North Miami sits about 9 miles east of our Hialeah shop, close enough to the bay that some homes feel the salt air on breezy days. The housing here mixes mid-century single-story houses, duplexes and condo towers, and an accent wall suits all of them. One wall of pattern or texture gives a compact condo living room a backdrop, makes a long ranch bedroom feel cozier, or adds a bit of drama to an entry. We install accent walls across ZIPs 33160, 33161, 33168 and 33181, and this page explains how we tailor them to the buildings and conditions you find in this part of Miami-Dade County.
Condo accent walls
Condo units often have one obvious feature wall: the long stretch opposite the balcony door, or the wall that separates the living area from the bedroom. Because condos can be short on architectural detail, wallpaper does the work that molding or a fireplace might do in a house.
Buildings usually have their own rules for contractors, including insurance certificates on file with management, service elevator reservations and set work hours. Tell us what your association requires, and we plan the visit around it. We bring everything up in as few trips as possible and keep hallways clear.
Mid-century and ranch homes
Many single-family houses in North Miami are low, wide and built with concrete block. Interior walls may be plaster rather than drywall, and decades of paint layers can hide small cracks. A feature wall in these homes often looks right behind a bed, along the dining area or at the end of a hallway leading to the bedrooms.
Plaster is a sturdy base for wallpaper once it is sound. We check for hollow spots by tapping, fill cracks, and sand down drips from old paint jobs so the paper lies flat.

Paper choices near the coast
Homes closer to the water deal with more airborne moisture and salt, especially when windows or balcony doors stay open. For accent walls in these rooms we favor non-woven backings and washable surfaces, which are dimensionally stable and easy to clean. Metallic inks look beautiful but can show tarnish over time in very salty air, so we discuss placement before you order.
Natural textures like grasscloth can still work on an interior wall in a home that keeps the AC running. If you love the look but the room opens to a balcony, a printed vinyl alternative is a sensible compromise.
The install, start to finish
We start by laying protection on floors and moving furniture away. Switch plates are removed, and the wall is cleaned of dust and kitchen grease. After a moisture check, we patch and sand, then roll on a wallpaper primer and let it dry.
Next comes layout. We find the center line, decide where the dominant motif will fall, and mark a true vertical. Strips are pasted, matched and smoothed one at a time. Excess is trimmed at the ceiling and baseboard with fresh blades. Before we leave, the wall is wiped, cover plates are back on, and debris is gone.
Planning around rain and storms
In North Miami the wet season usually brings afternoon storms from May through October. Indoor humidity rises quickly when doors open, so we ask that the AC stay on and doors stay closed while the paste dries. During hurricane season, condo buildings may restrict contractor access when a storm is approaching, so we confirm the day before every visit and reschedule if needed.
We also bring accent wall installation to Opa-locka, Miami Gardens, Miami, Miami Springs and Miami Lakes.
