Custom and Printed Mural Installation, North Miami

The short answer

We install printed and custom wallpaper murals for North Miami condos and homes, from kids' rooms to living room feature walls. We measure before you order, prep the wall smooth and align each panel so the image looks continuous.

Murals have a long history in Miami culture, and more North Miami homeowners are bringing that energy indoors with printed wall murals. A single image can stretch a small condo living room visually, give a child's bedroom a world of its own, or make a dining nook feel like a window onto somewhere else. Dream Wallpaper Installers is about 9 miles west in Hialeah, and we install murals throughout ZIPs 33160, 33161, 33168 and 33181. Our focus is the craft side of the job: measuring so the image fits, preparing the wall so it looks painted on, and lining up every panel so the picture reads as one.

Getting the size right

Mural sellers usually ask for wall width and height, and they print panels to match. The trouble is that real walls are rarely perfect rectangles. Condo ceilings can step down around a soffit; older homes may have walls that are an inch wider at the top than at the floor. If the order matches the wall exactly, there is nothing left to trim, and any irregularity shows as a gap.

When we measure, we record dimensions at multiple points, note obstacles, and add bleed on all sides. You give those numbers to the printer, and the panels arrive with enough extra image to fit the wall cleanly.

Where murals work in a North Miami home

Condo units often benefit from a mural on the wall that faces the entry, so the first impression is the image rather than a blank surface. Single-family homes have more options, but the classic spots stay the same: behind a bed, along a dining wall, in a playroom, or on the back wall of a home office that shows up on video calls.

Wall preparation matters more for murals

A repeating pattern can disguise a dent or a patch. A mural, especially a photographic one, cannot. Large areas of sky, water or solid color will reveal every bump. We shine a light across the wall at a low angle to find flaws, fill and sand them, and skim-coat textured walls when needed.

Plaster walls in older North Miami homes are often sound but may have hairline cracks. We open, fill and smooth those so they do not reappear through the mural. Then we apply a wallpaper primer suited to the mural material.

Installing the panels

We lay out all panels in order before pasting, which confirms the print is complete and correct. The first panel sets the alignment for everything after it, so we place it against a laser or plumb line rather than the room's corner.

Paste-the-wall murals go up quickly and cleanly. Paste-the-back types are booked and relaxed before hanging. Each panel's edge is matched to its neighbor and checked from across the room before the adhesive grabs. Trimming at the ceiling, baseboard and around outlets happens last.

Picking a mural material

Murals are printed on several substrates, and each suits a different room. Non-woven paper is breathable, stays dimensionally stable in damp air and usually strips off dry, which makes it our general recommendation for bedrooms and living areas. Vinyl murals stand up to scrubbing and are a sensible choice for kids' rooms, kitchens and busy hallways. Prepasted murals are convenient but can be less forgiving if the panel needs repositioning.

Self-adhesive murals appeal to renters, and they can work on smooth, freshly cured paint. In a humid home near the bay, though, their edges sometimes loosen over time. We talk through which substrate fits your wall and your plans before you place the order, since changing material after printing is not an option.

Humidity and coastal conditions

Being closer to the bay means more moisture in the air on many days, and summer brings frequent afternoon storms. Murals cover large areas with adhesive, so they need stable conditions to cure evenly. Keep the AC running and balcony or patio doors closed during installation and for a day or two afterward.

During the hurricane season, from June 1 to November 30, we may move an appointment if a storm threatens power or if your building restricts access. Our installers also hang murals in Opa-locka, Miami Gardens, Miami, Miami Springs and Miami Lakes.

FAQ

Common questions

Can you hang a mural I designed myself?

Yes. If you have a custom image printed as a mural, we can install it. We recommend sharing the file details with the printer to confirm resolution first.

Do murals work in condo units?

Very well. We follow building rules for contractor access and protect common areas while bringing materials in.

What happens if a panel is damaged?

We inspect all panels before installation. If one is damaged, we pause so you can request a replacement from the seller.

Are murals washable?

Vinyl and coated murals can usually be wiped gently. Non-woven matte murals should be dusted or spot-cleaned carefully.

How long does mural installation take?

Most single-wall murals take one day. Extra wall preparation can add time.
